Red, White and Blue Day Schools Tournament

Aldershot Town Football in the Community Trust in association with ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, are proud to announce the inaugural ‘Red, White & Blue day’ schools’ tournament is set to take place on December 11th, 2017.

The tournament, taking place at the new Everyone Active leisure centre in Hart, will celebrate Red, White & Blue day – a national fundraising campaign that raises money in support of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.

An annual event that celebrates a range of military aspects, 2017 turns its focus to women in the forces, celebrating 100 years of the Women’s Royal Navy Service and exploring all the roles women have taken up when serving their country.

As well as inviting schools across the Hampshire, Surrey and Berks area to participate in the tournament the Trust will be assisting in the delivery of curriculum time sessions. The lessons will explore the role women have played in service as well as provide opportunities to build paper tanks, spitfires and battleships with school children, many of whom will have close military links.

The tournament is open to under 11 sides and must feature at least one female player.

To find out how your school can get involved and be in with a chance of winning the first ever Red, White & Blue tournament trophy, please direct enquiries to fitc@aldershottownfitc.co.uk or call the Aldershot Town FITC Trust on 01252 546936.

Curriculum Time Coaching

The Trust offers local schools the chance to receive coaching during curriculum time.
Fully qualified Football Association coaches who are employed by the Trust can visit your school with all the necessary equipment, for a minimum of five weeks. Pupils receive structured sessions which complement the P.E. curriculum already being taught.

The flexible approach of our coaches enables the sessions to be adapted to the age and group size as well as any restrictions due to the school’s facilities. The service proves very popular and provides an ideal opportunity for teaching staff to learn new skills which can support their own teaching of this activity.

The cost of each session is just £25.00 for one hour, based on one coach being able to take a class size.

After School Coaching Clubs

Aldershot Town Community Trust runs After School Clubs with many local schools. These sessions are delivered by F.A. qualified coaches who visit the school at the end of the school day to coach boys and girls the skills and techniques of football and many other sports. All the necessary equipment is provided, all that we ask is that the school provides the facility and the children.

A club can start with a minimum of twelve and a maximum of twenty players. If demand is high, extra coaches can come in based on this ratio. The coaching takes place in a familiar and safe environment with the emphasis on providing a fun and enjoyable learning experience.

The cost is £3 per child per session with most schools opting to book the coaches for the duration of a school term. To help the club run smoothly we would ask the school to collect the payment, with all cheques made payable to: Aldershot Town FITC.
