STAY SAFE COMMUNITY CUP

On July 31st 14 local teams descended on Manor Park in Aldershot to take part in a community five-a-side tournament. A variety of local groups put forward teams including Hampshire Police, Rushmoor Borough Council, The Source Cafe, GBZ, Goru Flyers, Aldershot Boys, Aldershot Town FITC coaches, Domino’s Pizzas and two Army sides, Queen’s own Gurkha’s Logistics Regiment and 27 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps.

The event, designed as a way of bringing the community together, was organised by Aldershot Town FITC Community Manager Kirk Wheeler and RBC’s Anti-Social Behaviour Officer Moray Hendersonn.
.
The triumphant winners were 27 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps who beat their military counterparts Queen’s Own Gurkha’s Logistics Regiment in the final. With the tournament proving so successful it is hoped that the competition will become an annual event and more importantly will serve to bring people in Aldershot and Rushmoor together.
